Frequently Asked Questions

Who is coaching for?

Coaching is for anyone ready to make meaningful changes in their life. It’s especially helpful if you want support crafting and moving towards your goals, learning new skills, or navigating life’s challenges. I work with neurodivergent folks like people with ADHD or autism, as well as anyone who wants coaching that respects and celebrates their unique brain.

Do I need to be neurodivergent to work with you?

Not at all! While I specialize in coaching neurodivergent clients, I welcome anyone who’s interested in compassionate, strengths-based coaching. Everyone deserves support that meets them where they are.

How is life coaching different from therapy?

Therapy is about healing from the past and working through mental health challenges. Life coaching is about where you are now and what’s next. It helps you get clear on your goals, build useful skills, and figure out how to make your life feel better and more you.

Coaches don’t treat trauma or mental health issues. Instead, we help you discover your own strengths and come up with practical ways to move forward. Lots of people use therapy and coaching together, since they are more like teammates, not rivals. You might start with therapy to heal, then add coaching to level up and keep growing. Coaching isn’t a replacement for therapy, but it can be a powerful partner on your journey.

How do I get started?

The first step is a free discovery call. We’ll chat about what you want, what’s working or not, and see if coaching feels like a good fit. From there, you can decide if you want to book a session or a program that suits your needs.

What can I expect from a coaching session?

Each session is a safe space for you to explore what matters most. We’ll reflect on what’s working, what’s challenging, and find practical steps that can help you move forward. Since I specialize in ADHD/Autism coaching, I’ll share useful tips and insights tailored to your unique way of thinking. You bring what matters most to you and where you want to go, and I’ll help guide the conversation to make sure we focus on what will help you most.

How do I prepare for a coaching session?

Just come as you are, with whatever is on your mind. Maybe bring a goal you have been thinking about but haven’t quite gotten around to yet. Being open to new ideas helps a lot. I also recommend having a notebook or a note-taking app handy so you can jot down insights and next steps as they come up.

How many sessions do I need?

Everyone’s coaching journey looks a little different because it depends on your goals and how ready you are to try new things. I typically suggest starting with 12 sessions because most folks see the best results in about four to six months.

Many clients use those sessions to meet weekly or twice a week at first, then slowly spread them out as they get more confident and ready to move forward on their own.

Some people reach their goals sooner, while others like to keep the momentum going for longer. Either way, I’m here to support you in a way that fits your pace and growth.

Are sessions recorded?

Yes, sessions are sometimes recorded for coaching certification purposes, but I’ll always ask for your permission first. If you’d like me to record our session and send you a copy afterward, just ask. Your privacy and comfort are my top priorities.

How do you handle confidentiality?

Your privacy is paramount to me. Everything we talk about stays between us, except in rare situations where safety is a concern or if I’m required by law to share information.

Do you take insurance?

Most health insurance plans don’t cover life coaching, even if it is ADHD or autism coaching. That said, some plans might cover therapy or occupational therapy that includes coaching techniques. You may also be able to use Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to pay for coaching.

Some employers also offer Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) that include coaching services, so it’s worth checking with your company if that’s an option.

How is coaching different from mentoring or consulting?

Coaching is about helping you find your own answers and build your skills. Mentors usually share their experience and advice based on what worked for them. Consultants give expert solutions for specific problems. I’m here to guide your growth with questions and support, not to tell you exactly what to do.

What tools or methods do you use in coaching?

I blend transformational and somatic coaching approaches to help you connect with your whole self—mind and body. We focus on awareness, practical strategies, and shifting habits so you can move forward in ways that feel natural and sustainable.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens and plans do change. Just give me a heads-up at least 36 hours before our next session. I have a clear cancellation policy to keep things fair, and I’ll work with you to find a new time that fits your schedule.
